Q.: Which materials are generally used for the equipment of access group?
A.: In general stainless steel is used for system components and ropes. Posts and anchors are partly made from hot-dip galvanized material. Cast components are mainly either from 17 / 4 PH or 316 (ANC 4) stainless steel.
Q.: What is the type, size and breaking resistance of the ropes access group is using for rope systems?
A.: We usually use two types of ropes: 7x7 und 1x19, both with a maximum diameter of 8 mm. The minimum breaking strength is 38 kN for the 7x7 construction and 45 kN for the 1x19 version.
Q.: Which typical loads occur on a HORIZONTAL ROPE SYSTEM in case of a fall?
A. The load on external, corner and intermediate anchors of the SafePost II are max. 3,3 kN. The load on external and intermediate anchors of a Uni8 sytem is limited to 10 kN. For conventional systems no typical loads are valid as every system is individually custom-tailored.
Though, the final loads for most systems are between 12 kN and 19 kN for the 7x7 as well as 22,5 kN for the 1x19 ropes.
The loads on intermediate anchors are usually around 40% higher than on external anchors and depend on the system. The actual load on corner anchors is a vector of the max. possible rope tension at every side of a corner.
The load on intermediate anchors depend on the number of system users the system was designed for and is calculated by the following formula:
Load of intermediate anchor = 6 kN + ([Number of users -1] * 3 kN)
Q.: Which typical loads occur on a VERTICAL ROPE SYSTEM in case of a fall?
A.: All loads of a vertical system are limited to 6 kN by using energy absorbers between anchor and rope.
Q.: Which minimum safety factor provide the access group system components?
A.: All elements of access group fall protection systems have a safety factor of 2.
Q.: Which durability is usually estimated for the equipments?
A.: access group estimates for all equipments that are used under normal mainland conditions a durability of 20 years. Systems that are used in a distance of 3 km off the coast or in polluted industrail areas have an estimated durability of 15 years.
Q.: What kinds of fall protection systems does access group provide?
A.: access group provides fall protection solutions for safe work in different categories:
Q.: Can locking pin sytems be used for overhangs?
A.: With the corresponding socket a max. distance of 120 mm can be compensated.
